Scavenger Hunt Sunday (on Monday)-Week 1

I have decided to start this new series as well for Sundays {I'll do my best...will probably be on Mondays most of the time.} I am hoping that it will challenge me to take better pictures and to learn how to edit them. I know I am just starting out but it will be interesting to look back, even a few months from now, and see how far I have progressed! If you haven't heard of this before head over and check it out here @ Ramblings and Photos

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You're encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I'm not too strict about it - I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) - you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!

This weeks words are...

1. Travel
2. Silly
3. Black & White
4. Spots
5. Paper

1. Travel - The moment I saw this I knew I was going to take pictures of our suitcases that are in storage. I have been patiently waiting to dig them out. Maybe if I keep them out, I will trigger something in my husbands brain?! Worth a try right?

2. Silly - I couldn't resist. This is my husband...he asked me if I was really going to post this on here and I said "ABSOLUTELY!!!"

3. Black & White - I had the privilege of watching this cutie Saturday night. She is such a sweetheart.

4. Spots - I had a hard time with this one. I kept thinking polka dots and I wanted to go beyond polka dots to spots. Sooo...as gross as this is and I don't want to share it....these are the spots on my carpet in the dining room that I cannot get out. They have been there since before we moved in and I'm not sure how long before that. Ahhhh!!!! (this is my least favorite picture because its hard to photograph white carpet and make it look nice in a picture...who puts white carpet in a dining room anyways?!?)

5. Pages - My new "cake cookbook." There are tons of different recipes in here that you can make with cake mix. Not just cakes either. I just happened to be on "Birthday Cake Cupcakes." I can't wait to try all the recipes in here!

  1. Great set! I love your "silly" shot, so fun! Way to get inspired to work on your photography and editing skills, that's why I do this too. Also, we had whitish carpet in our dining room as well. We finally replaced it with laminate wood last week after 6 years (and 3 small children), I feel your pain! :)

    1. Thanks Jessica! Oh it will be the death of me! :) It will come out eventually...thankfully we don't have any kids yet. Good luck with learning!

  2. HAHA I love the shot of your DH. I had issues with polka dots, and spots and I gave up and just did dots. Never even crossed my mind for spots on the carpet, I have a carpet cleaner that we use twice a year works amazingly well. Only spot we can't get removed is a rust spot that was there when we moved in everything else vanishes.

    1. Haha Heater...he is quite goofy! :) We have tried the carpet cleaner and I've tried spot cleaning...fail! So I have no idea what it is...they were there before us and apparently for a very long time! Luckily the carpet won't be staying long!

  5. Your black and white shot is so perfectly sweet! She's adorable. Great job! This has been my first week with SHS, too.

BTW, that's how my husband usually looks in all of the photos I manage to get of him, too. [Sigh...] :)
